Ashley was created in 1985 with the help of his “drag-mother,” Chelsea Pearl (the reigning Miss Continental Plus). Originally doing shows for fun in Lexington KY, Ashley began working with the Imperial Court of the Bluegrass Empire, a non profit group who raised money for local charities. In 1987 Ashley moved to Louisville, Kentucky to attend Roy’s of Louisville Beauty Academy for cosmetology and was hired by George Stinson and Ed Lewis at the “New Club Downtowner.” He began his full-time career as a female impersonator in the cast of “La Boy La Femme”.
Ashley also worked at The Discovery Nightclub in Louisville as well as The Bar Complex, and Great Moments in Lexington, Kentucky. In 1989, Ashley made the move to Atlanta Ga was quickly hired on the cast of Lipstix, where Atlanta’s most beautiful women just happen to be men. Also working such clubs in Atlanta as LaVita’s, the Metro, the Gallus, Deana’s One more time, Crazy Ray’s, as one of the original “Funky Diva’s” at the Armory, and Charlie Brown’s Cabaret at Backstreet.Ashley moved to Nashville for 4 months in 1993 for the opening of The Connection Complex, then made his way back home to Atlanta. In 1995 Ashley moved back to Louisville to join the cast of La Boy La Femme at the Connection Complex (the new mega-plex club owned by George Stinson and Ed Lewis). In 1998, Ashley began commuting to Indianapolis, Indiana to join the cast of “Simply the Best” at Club Cabaret before his move back to Atlanta in 2000.
Upon moving back to Atlanta, Ashley was quickly hired to join Charlie Brown’s Cabaret, until the closing of Backstreet. Ashley also appeared at Charlie Brown’s Cabaret at Underground, The new Metro, Blakes on the Park, and WetBar.
Ashley’s home is now at Burkharts, where he is on cast Friday and Saturday nights, and serves as the Entertainment Director.
Known to many as the ultimate pageant queen, Ashley has won numerous titles (too many to list.) A few of his favorites: Miss Georgia USA, Miss Georgia Continental, Miss Renaissance, Miss Hotlanta International, and Miss Gay National. Ashley has been 1st runner up at Miss Continental, twice at Miss Gay USofA, and three times at National Entertainer of the Year, Miss Gay World, and most recently Miss Continental Elite. He will be competing again this year representing Miss Heart of America Continental at the Miss Continental Elite 2012 in Chicago on Easter weekend.
Ashley appeared on several national talk shows: “The Phil Donahue Show”, “Jenny Jones”, and “Maury”. Throughout his long career in female impersonation, Ashley, has been and still is, a gay activist and continues to raise money for numerous charities and PWA funds.
